Deploying Your App Using Vercel

Prerequisites​

Install Vercel CLI​

pnpm i -g vercel

Checklist​

✅ Have the Git repo of your project ready.
✅ Have the environment variables from your .env.local file ready.

If you don't have the variables ready yet, read Configuration first (or request access).

Deploy to Vercel​

These commands assume you are in a standalone project created by the Foundation scaffolder. Run them from the generated project root (the directory containing package.json), not from an apps/foundation subdirectory.

  1. From the generated project root, run vercel. See the Vercel CLI linking prompts.

  2. In the Vercel project settings, add the environment variables from your .env.local file.

Pull environment variables from Vercel​

From now on, Vercel will be your source of truth regarding environment variables. If you need to update them, do it in Vercel's dashboard and not in your .env.local file.

To sync your local environment, run these commands from the generated project root:

# Install Vercel CLI globally if you haven't already
pnpm add --global vercel

# Login to Vercel
vercel login

# Link the generated app to its Vercel project
vercel link

# Pull environment variables
pnpm pull:env-vars
